My Philosophy: Perspective for the Long Term
In the heat of a crisis, it is easy to feel that our current struggle is permanent. I often caution my clients: don’t make permanent decisions based on temporary situations. When we look at the full extent of our lives, most of what we experience is transient. Therapy is the process of gaining that perspective, uncovering patterns, and moving toward wholeness.

What are the fees for services?
- Individual Therapy: $150 per session.
- Couples Therapy: $200 per session.
- Payment Methods: Cash, Cheque, and e-Transfer are accepted.
What is the typical process for therapy?
- Free Consultation: We begin with a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and ensure we are a good therapeutic fit.
- Initial Assessment: In our first full session, we explore what brought you to therapy and decide on the most effective path forward.
- Ongoing Sessions: We work collaboratively using evidence-based methods like CBT to uncover patterns and build practical strategies for growth.
Is therapy covered by insurance?
Private practice therapy is not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health insurance plans (such as SunLife, Manulife, or Green Shield) provide coverage. We provide a receipt for every session which you can submit to your provider for reimbursement.
How long are the sessions and where are they held?
- Duration: Standard individual sessions typically run for 50 minutes.
- Format: Therapy is conducted primarily via online video sessions, making it accessible to residents across Ontario, including Pickering and the GTA.
- Availability: Regular hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday, with morning availability on Fridays
